Music, Gettysburg! Presents Free Outdoor Concert by Cormorant’s Fancy September 13
Featuring the ballads,jigs and haunting music of the British Isles, one of the Gettysburg area’s favorite bands, Cormorant’s Fancy, will perform a free outdoor concert Sunday, September 13th at 5:00 pm in Schmucker Grove, just north of Springs Avenue on the United Lutheran Seminary Campus. .
This one-hour concert is free and open to everyone. People are asked to bring their own chairs or blankets, and to observe appropriate social distancing, mask wearing, and other pandemic-related precautions. While the Seminary has given permission for this outdoor event, the buildings on the campus remain closed, so restroom facilities will not be available. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be cancelled as the chapel is not available as an alternate location.Weather-related cancellation will be announced on our website (www.musicgettysburg.org) and phone message (717-339-1334).
Cormorant's Fancy wings across generations and oceans with traditional and contemporary music of Ireland,along with Scotland, Wales, and North America. Passion for their heritage pulses in every note! Delivering driving reels, sprightly jigs, haunting airs,beautiful ballads and spirited songs, they feature fancy-full harmonies and soaring instrumentals that blend vocals, concertina,fiddle, penny whistle, guitar, bass and bodhrán.
The group features Beth Folkemer, Steve Folkemer and their daughter Margaret, plus Joel Folkemer on bodhrán, Ryan Kozak on fiddle, and Chris Barnabei on bass.
Come out on September 13th and enjoy a wonderful evening on the lawn with the delightful sound of music in the air.
