GETTYSBURG, PA (December 18, 2016) —  Music, Gettysburg! presents the ringing and singing music of the Christmas season in concert Sunday evening, December 18th, at 7pm in the chapel of the Lutheran Theological Seminary.

This festive concert, one of the most popular in the Music, Gettysburg! season, is free and open to the public. It will feature the Gettysburg Brass with Ben Jones and two choruses, the Gettysburg Childrens’ Choir and the Gettysburg Chamber Chorale (best of Central PA’s high school voices) singing classic Christmas favorites, old and new under the leadership of director Brent Talbot (Sunderman Conservatory).  The concert also includes soprano Jan Aaland, baritone Wayne Hill, Flutist Teresa Bowers, pianist Mike Matsinko.

The theme will highlight the singing and ringing bell sounds of Christmas, brightly led by seven of Ben Jones’ brass players.

Come prepared to add your voice to assembly singing of several Christmas carols, including a new concertato by Stephen Folkemer composed for this concert.  The music of Palestrina, Whitacre, Burt and Larson will round out a delightful program of a little more than an hour of music. Narrating the concert is the Jeffrey Gabel, the founding executive director of the Majestic Theatre.

Come enjoy this Sunday evening holiday concert which is free and open to the public. The Seminary Chapel is located at 147 Seminary Ridge on the west edge of Gettysburg.
