Acclaimed by one composer as “the best high school choir in the country,” Music, Gettysburg! is pleased to present the Central Bucks West Chamber Choir in concert Saturday, April 2nd at 4pm in the Seminary chapel, 147 Seminary Ridge.

From Doylestown by way of venues from Carnegie Hall to the Louvre, White House, and National Cathedral, the 40-voice high school ensemble Chamber Choir has received reviews around the world, awards from the American Choral Directors Association, and commissions by some of the nation’s leading composers. The concert, free and open to the public, is your opportunity to see what fabulous music young voices can produce.

The acclaimed high school group is making its second appearance for Music, Gettysburg!, last performing in 2014. Under the direction of Joseph Ohrt, hear one of the superior choral programs in the United States, whose unparalleled programs offer adventuresome sounds and dazzling singers will fill the superior acoustics of the Lutheran Seminary chapel. Ohrt holds bachelors and masters degrees from the Westminster Choir College of Rider University, and a DMA from the University of South Carolina.

The Choirs of Central Bucks High School-West, from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, comprise one of the most respected choral programs in the nation.  Having presented close to four hundred world premieres in the last eighteen years, West Choirs have served as a pioneer of and advocate for contemporary composition. Their unparalleled accomplishments and unique programming have inspired choirs, conductors, and composers around the country.  West Choirs continuously enjoy collaborations with some of the world’s most important composers and conductors.

The Central Bucks West Chamber Choir has performed from coast to coast in the United States, as well as internationally in Canada and Europe.  The choirs have performed in a long list of major venues, including Boston’s Holy Cross Cathedral, the Jefferson Memorial, the John F.
