The Schola Cantorum

Under the direction of Stephen Folkemer, the Schola Cantorum of Gettysburg is a vocal ensemble of 30 singers from Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia whose goal is to present the most beautiful sacred choral music of the 15th through the 18th Centuries. Formed in 1986, in addition to concert performances, the Schola Cantorum regularly performs festival choral vespers at the chapel of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg in Advent, and often in Lent and Easter. On a periodic basis, the Schola also teams with the world-renowned, Boston Shawm and Sackbut Ensemble, to present some of the most beautiful choral/instrumnetal repertoire of the Renaissance and Early Baroque, including music of the Victoria, Morales, the Gabrielis, Praetorius, Schütz, Schein and others.  Admission is by audition and interested, well-qualified singers may inquire directly to Dr. Folkemer at...
