Music, Gettysburg! Presents Free Outdoor Concert by Cormorant’s Fancy at United Lutheran Seminary – Gettysburg Campus
Featuring the ballads, jigs and haunting music of the British Isles, one of the Gettysburg area’s favorite bands, Cormorant’s Fancy, will perform a free concert ton Sunday, August 6th in the Schmucker Grove on the United Lutheran Seminary – Gettysburg Campus.
The concert takes place at 6:00 pm and is free. Bring your chairs and blankets, a picnic basket and enjoy the music in the outdoor setting near the corner of Seminary Ridge and Springs Avenue. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the Chapel, three buildings away.
Cormorant’s Fancy, music of Ireland and the Celtic Nations, wings across generations and oceans with traditional and contemporary music of Ireland, along with Scotland, Wales, and North America. Passion for their heritage pulses in every note! Delivering driving reels, sprightly jigs, haunting airs, beautiful ballads, spirited songs and good-humored sing-alongs, they feature fancy-full harmonies and soaring instrumentals that blend vocals, concertina, fiddle, penny whistle, low whistle, guitar, keyboards and bodhrán.
The group features Beth Folkemer, Steve Folkemer and their daughter Margaret, plus Ricky Czar and Chuck Krepley on a wagon full of instruments.
Come out on August 6th and cool down on the lawn with a delightful sound of music in the air.
